An acclaimed pianist and the owners of the Egyptian Theatre settled a lawsuit stemming from the loss of the tip of her left middle finger.
The Egyptian Theatre is one of the oldest movie venues in Hollywood. Unfortunately, many of these older buildings have issues that can create dangerous conditions for patrons. Such was the allegation in this lawsuit where a pianist claims to have suffered a severed fingered in a faulty restroom door. Due to her occupation, it was claimed that she would loose considerable income as a result of not being able to play the same again. The case was settled for an undisclosed amount, which is not unusual. Terms of settlement are often held confidential by agreement.
