Danger of Hacking Web-Connected Cars

A pair of researchers said that they had hacked a Jeep Cherokee through its Internet-connected system, allowing them to take control of the engine, brakes and even steering.

In addition to the “distracted driving” issues raised by web-connected “smart” dashboards that I have discussed in other blogs, there is another danger: Hacking.  Apparently it is possible for a hacker to log into your car and do things like cut the power to your brakes!
