Usually, when you think of caramel apples, you think of a delightful sweet treat that is usually consumed around Halloween.  For one California family, though, the “treat” turned into a nightmare when the apple was found to be contaminated with a deadly strain of the Listeria virus.  Causation of death is always at issue in these cases but, this particular case seems to be traceable.
