Following on the heels of several, major commercial bus line disasters including the crash near Yucaipa, Calfiornia that killed and injured scores of people, the Federal Motor Carrier Adminstration has stepped up regulations on bus carriers. Under these new rules, it will be easier to shut down companies who have repeated violations including failure to properly maintain brakes, tires, and other essential equipment and who violate driver rest period requirements.
