People who suffer traumatic brain injuries face an elevated risk of death from suicide or accidents for years to come, according to a new study based on four decades of data on hundreds of thousand of patients in Sweden.

More bad news for traumatic brain injury survivors.  Depending upon the severity of the head trauma, TBI victims can suffer from many long term medical complications and now studies show that they will also have a shorter life expectancy due to the residual effects of the condition.
