About six weeks after an explosion leveled their South Jersey home, a couple severely burned is suing the contractor they believe is responsible for the blast.
Propane is a natural gas that is used in many hundreds of thousands of homes in the United States. Like any gaseous fuel source, it is highly flammable and can explode. This lawsuit alleges that the gas company failed to properly remove or shut off a gas tank attached to their home and simply cut the copper piping, which caused the tank to flood under their home with gas, become ignited by the hot water heater, and explode. The incident caused massive burn injuries to the occupants of the home.
