Worker Killed in Vault Explosion in Huntington Beach Identified

An underground electrical vault exploded in Huntington Beach on Monday. Authorities have identified the worker killed Monday in a electrical vault explosion in Huntington Beach.

Steven M. Sweat‘s insight:

Electrical components including transformers and vaults like this one can and do explode.  In this case, the family may have a workers compensation death benefit claim against he contractor’s employer or possible a negligence claim against the utility company (Southern California Edison) if it is shown that the cause of the explosion was related to a maintenance failure or a dangerous condition for which SCE knew or should have known.
