I am all for alternative fuel sources in automobiles and I think California has been at the forefront of promoting electric and hybrid vehicles.  I think the problem historically with hydrogen fuel cells in vehicles is the potential for fires and explosions in the event of a traffic collision.  Hopefully, this research will lead to better safety features that can prevent the potential for serious bodily injury and damage in the event of a major crash impact.
