Bus Company Settles Amputee Lawsuit For $15M – CBS Los Angeles

An 85-year-old man who lost part of his leg after a public bus hit him in a Southern California crosswalk settled a lawsuit Monday for $15 million — just before a jury reached a verdict that would have given him even more.

Pedestrian accidents among the elderly are more common than with just about any other demographic except children.  Although no amount of money can replace an amputated limb, it is good to see that the bus company in this case pay a substantial settlement to compensate the victim.
