INFOGRAPHIC ON TEEN DRIVER SAFETY FROM THE “DRIVE IT HOME” INITIATIVE OF THE NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL

Steven M. Sweat‘s insight:

DID  YOU KNOW?

  1. In one year in the U.S. almost 3,500 teenagers died in motor vehicle accidents;
  2. Over half of the teen auto accident fatalities were not wearing their seat belts
  3. Many of these accident (about 40 %) occurred in the night time and early morning hours and many involved distracted driving from cell phone use and/or other teens in the vehicle.

As a car accident lawyer, I have seen my share of traffic injury and fatality incidents involving teenagers.  I think more education and public service information like this is a positive way we can all try to reduce these frightening statistics.
