Interesting “growing pains” controversy going on in Montreal where cycling lanes and bike sharing programs have rapidly expanded the use of bikes for transportation and for recreation.  A recent spate of bike accidents raises the concerns that cyclists are not obeying the rules of the road.  In California, every cyclist needs to know that they have both the same rights as any other vehicle on the road but, also the same responsibilities under the California Vehicle Code.
